The social media giant Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is gearing up to launch its new app called “Threads an Instagram App” to rival Twitter. The app is scheduled to go live on Thursday and will be linked to Instagram. Already available for pre-order on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, Threads promises to be a “text-based conversation app,” with a dashboard that bears a resemblance to Twitter.

The rivalry between Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, and Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, has been intensifying, and Threads seems to be the latest shot fired in this battle for social media supremacy.

Confirming the launch of Threads, Meta has set the date as July 6, 2023. To build anticipation, Instagram is offering custom tickets to users ahead of the launch. Instagram users are already sharing their exclusive tickets via Instagram Stories. If you haven’t received one yet, fear not, as we’ll tell you how to get your own custom ticket to the Threads app.

To obtain your unique Threads ticket on Instagram, simply search for “Threads” within the app. You’ll spot a red ticket icon in the Instagram search bar; tap on it to claim yours.

Much like a Willy Wonka-inspired golden ticket, your custom Threads ticket will have your name on it, along with the launch date and time of the app: 7:30 PM on July 6. The ticket also includes a QR code that will direct users to the official Threads website. This exclusive ticket offer is available on both the Android and iOS versions of the Instagram app.

Although the app has briefly appeared on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with leaked screenshots showcasing its visual aesthetics, not much is known about Threads’ features.

It is expected to be a text-based conversation platform, possibly with character restrictions similar to Twitter’s 280-word count. The app might also be decentralized, allowing users to use other apps while remaining on Threads.

Screenshots reveal that users will log in to Threads using their Instagram accounts and can choose whom they want to follow from a list of contacts within the app.

Despite the excitement surrounding Threads, concerns over privacy have surfaced. Some users on Twitter have shared screenshots suggesting that Threads might collect various user data, including financial information, health and fitness data, purchases, location, contacts, and more.

As the launch date approaches, social media enthusiasts await eagerly to see how Threads will fare in the competitive world of social networking.
